SPBH was founded in 2023 originally to support the youth players of the South Hills Barbarians, Invaders, and Vikings. In spring of 2024, we joined forces with McBride Dek Hockey to include a youth in-house dek hockey league after the closure of South Hills Dek Hockey. Our home dek is located at McBride Park, in the Lincoln Place neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

 

Youth in-house leagues are available for all kids between the ages of 4 and 16. Our tournament program is a member of the PBHL, competing in youth co-ed ball hockey tournaments in the Greater Pittsburgh region as well as select tournaments in the Northeast US and Canada. Our players come from neighborhoods throughout Pittsburgh, the South Hills, and Mon Valley area.

 

We are a volunteer-based 501c-3 organization and rely on fundraisers and sponsors to support our dual mission of enriching the lives of the girls and boys of South Pittsburgh through ball hockey and expanding the reach of the sport. We work to instill the values of good sportsmanship, teamwork, commitment, and fun for all athletes and fans.
